Join us the fourth Saturday in September each year for a special day celebrating the making, drinking and sharing of Mead! Hosted inside and outside Starrlight Mead, this is one of our favorite celebrations and our biggest event of the year. Free, fun, and family-friendly - this is one you don't want to miss! We have smoked Turkey Legs, food trucks, sword fighting knights, Renaissance music, home mead making demonstrations, lots of arts and crafts vendors.

The Manassas Viking Festival is a cultural and educational event hosting several Viking reenactment groups who will set up camp on the Manassas Museum lawn where they will demonstrate scenes from daily life during the Viking era, including iron work, tool making, wood carving, working with wool, archery skills and period fighting.

The Scandinavian Christmas Fair in Raleigh, North Carolina is an authentic celebration of the traditions of the Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. This old-world celebration is certain to get you in the spirit of the season. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the Julmarknad (Christmas Fair in Swedish) and it attracts people from Scandinavia and of Scandinavian descent as well as many Americans who have made this an annual tradition.

Join hundreds of magical pagans and pagan friends in 2018 for love light and fun for the most recent PPD in our neck of the woods! The South Eastern NC Pagan Pride Day hopes to attract over a thousand pagans, pagan friends and the pagan curious. Open to the general public, this autumn celebration will offer the return of Pagan Pride Day one Saturday in October with both entertainment and education through social, commercial, and spiritual activities.

A fan convention/festival in the U.S. for fans of the History Channel's show Vikings, to celebrate Viking history & culture. VikingsCon programming will be very interactive and includes panels, several workshops, demos and training courses, a cosplay contest, a living history encampment and more Vikings-era things to see and do for all ages! We will even be hosting an after-party and camping!

The American Homebrewers Association has designated the first Saturday in August as Mead Day. We think it’s a great excuse for a mini-Renaissance Faire! Join us the first Saturday in August each year for a special day celebrating the making, drinking and sharing of Mead! Due to our move into our new location in late Summer, we are postponing our Mead Day celebration to Saturday, September 22, 2018! We hope you will join us then!

We believe that fairies and beauty will save the world, and invite you to help us in this endeavor! Our Festival is well-attended every year, with an average attendance of approximately 11,000 over the 3-day weekend.

Peasants, rogues, villains, and royals, your attention please! We are so very excited to announce the next Medieval Market on March 24th! Everyone amazed us with such wonderful presence, garb, & enthusiasm at the inaugural market, and we are looking forward to making this next one an even larger and more entertainment filled day of revelry in West Asheville at The Odditorium! There will be merchants from near and far, dancers nimble and lovely, warriors fearsome and brave, and musicians melodic.
